SparkPlug

Welcome to my blog, The Diamond Dragonfly
Another fun, family friendly challenge with a wholesome sentiment, and ‘of course’ it’s “Anything Goes” as far as styles or projects.
This is our 167th challenge.  Thank you so much for taking time to share your magnificent art with us. We appreciate your participation and we love seeing your creations.
Congratulations to the winners from last week.  Once again, we had so beautiful entries.
We are still inundated with sub-zero weather, -19*F. Sharon has finally recovered from the exodus of a multitude of huge kidney stones.

SparkPlug my sweet, wee, 14 year old Shih Tzu was staggering a few times this last week. Two nights ago he flipped over and over, his eyes twitched and he cried while out in the pen to pee. Taylor quickly brought him into the house. I wrapped him up and held his head steady and gently rocked him in my arms for over an hour as his eyes twitched and remained stiff. I may have cried the whole time.
Cheryl and Taylor kept saying, “it’s ok he just has Vestibular syndrome” which they had googled.
It took me a while to believe them.  I saw our vet and he was astonished at how well SparkPlug  had recouped in 24 hours even tho’ he has an ear infection (which we are treating). I believe holding his head steady and gently rocking him was calming and comforting.

We are still inundated with sub-zero weather here in Cumberland, -31*C or -24*F. It is lovely to keep the fire burning and to watch the flames dance and curl. Bringing in the wood however, is another story. It is very heavy.
I made this card for my friend Sharon who has been in the hospital. She is always preparing something delicious for her family and friends to eat, so I used this as her welcome home card.
The image, Bakendayz is from Robyn’s Fetish and can be found here.

FrostQuakes!

Welcome to my blog, The Diamond Dragonfly

This is our 165th challenge.  Thank you so much for taking time to share your magnificent art with us. We appreciate your participation and we really like seeing what you have been working on.
Congratulations to the winners from last week.  Once again, we had so beautiful entries.
What a week we've had here in Cumberland. The furnace at the church needed repair and although it wasn't too cold we had some rather nasty freezing rain which didn't dampen the service although people were given time to go and retrieve their coats.
The next card played by the weather is minus 9*F. very cold indeed. Frostquakes day and night .Picture me outside trying to stay on my feet while attempting to open every door on the car, frozen closed from all the rain. After a big bottle of rubbing alcohol and time, lots of time.........., I finally got the drivers door open. When I went to pick up Ken yet the other doors refused to open.
Another picture for you. Me lifting my right leg up over the automatic shift apparatus and kick/ pushing the door from the inside while Ken pulled from the outside.
It is supposed to be colder tonight.
The full moon was so bright around 0400 the ice coated trees were sparkling. It was beautiful.

This money envelope was not only to get a scripture into particular hands, but also something they might keep around for a week. It's much prettier than this picture shows.

Flowers, Leaves and A Musical Score!

Welcome to my blog, The Diamond Dragonfly
Another fun, family friendly challenge with a wholesome sentiment, and ‘of course’ it’s “Anything Goes” as far as styles or projects.
This is our 164th challenge.  Thank you so much for taking time to share your magnificent art with us. We appreciate your participation and we love seeing your creations.
Congratulations to the winners from the last two weeks.  Once again, we had so many beautiful entries. I was inspired by  them. I really like the paper I've used and bags are always needed in this household. Please let me know what I could have put on the doily. I know something would have been perfect.

I celebrated my 68th birthday December 25th and my 47th wedding anniversary December 28th . It has been a very unusual two weeks, with all the snow gone, rain, rain, rain and lots of fog. Today is much more seasonal, temperature-wise COLD.
I hope you will celebrate all the wonderful things that happened in 2014; things accomplished, things attempted and time spent with family and friends.
God is so good to us all the time. 2015 is right at the threshold and it will speed by likely faster than 2014.
Here is some wonderful free Word Art for you. Take it to heart each week, hold it, read it, use it memorize it and share it.

A Sugar Plum Fairy Trip Down Memory Lane !

Welcome to my blog,
Christmas 2014 has passed. We await 2015.  Will it pass as quickly as this last year?
I have had a serious case of not wanting to do anything.
I have made a fairly simple bookmark tag with bits of sparkle and the Sugar Plum Fairy. Mommy always called me Sugar Plum for two reasons, One, I was born on Christmas Day and secondly the opera The Dance of the Sugar Plum fairy.  I loved the whole opera even as a baby.  She had the whole collection which we played on an old Motorola windup player.
We spent most Christmas’s in Maniwaki and often went there from Osgoode in the old steam engine .  We traveled on this train many a time.
This tag is a trip down memory lane after celebrating my 68th birthday..
