The Mouse Who Got Away!

Welcome to my blog, The Diamond Dragonfly
The adventures continue here at 1718. The other night when I awakened to go to the bathroom I heard the most interesting scratching noise under the sink. I feared a mouse had been caught and hadn't quite expired. After tossing and turning in bed for another hour I went back to check and, the curious scratching had not ceased. I looked, and the wee mousy had his tail caught in the trap and was trying to exit in the space around the pipes. Alas the size of the trap  wouldn't accommodate his retreat although he was trying. I picked the trap up and he played possum as I carried him out the front door. Greased lightning left the trap with a bit of a crink in the tip of his tail, He has decided not to return. I was so happy he got away. Finally I see where they are getting in which will solve the problem.
Another fun, family friendly challenge with a wholesome sentiment, and ‘of course’ it’s “Anything Goes” as far as styles or projects.
This is our 159th challenge.  Thank you for taking time to post with us. It is a smorgasbord of creativity.
Congratulations to the winners from last week.  Once again, we had many beautiful entries.
All your cards, tags and projects are extremely beautiful. I find great inspiration when I see your work and it always challenges me.
This gift bag is to hold a birthday present for Kelli Ann my oldest son's wife.

The Eleventh Hour of the Eleventh Day of the Eleventh Month!

Welcome to my blog, The Diamond Dragonfly

My Dad, David William Robb, played the bagpipes and was in the Kemptville Legion  pipe band. We NEVER missed an Armistice Day service. This year, a known name was entered, because a member of our Armed Forces was murdered a few weeks back while standing guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
Daddy, along with all the other troops, landed in Sicily, went through Europe and ended up in Holland. He along with other musicians stayed behind to play for the wounded troops as they awaited transport home.
We did it; all five cords of wood are piled. Three cords beside the house to be tarped after a few days of wind, and two cords in front of the flower bed close to the steps. Also, I have fixed the entrance to the portable garage.
The squirrels are another story and that chapter hasn't been written. The sonic blaster seemed to be useless, next it is the old chili powder application.  After that it is the old live trap relocation plan. I hate to do this because all their food is here.
Another fun, family friendly challenge with a wholesome sentiment, and ‘of course’ it’s “Anything Goes” as far as styles or projects.
This is our 157th.   Thank you for taking time to post your very  beautiful art with us.

Banners And Bows

Welcome to my blog, The Diamond Dragonfly
The time has changed from Daylight Savings so the sun is setting and darkness arriving before the evening meal. I have the shed tidied out once again, quite a major chore. We have put quite a dent in the wood pile but alas there must be 4 more chords left. Herk was teaching Taylor how to pile it. Not everyone gets a wall of wood under their front room window inside. I like it. The wood is very heavy due to the copious amounts of rain we have had. Today and Friday I have to get it finished, then just one more room to go.
I had seven people over for brunch Sunday after church. It was a pleasant few hours.

This decorated bag is now going to house Kelli Ann’s birthday from Taylor. It is so pretty in real life, the picture doesn't do it justice. The DP's are all from one set yet it  looks like nothing matches.

This week found me seeking non-lethal solutions to mice and squirrels who feel drawn to move into my house. The mother squirrel had six babies this spring and they all lived. I think they have a relocation plan that includes our attic; country living at its best.
My camera SD card was not accepted by the computer and the cord for my camera got exchanged with someone else's.  I was going to exchange the pearls on the sequins for rhinestones but the thought of trying to get the picture was too much. I like the card, and in real time the sequins are the same pink as the dots.
Here is my DT card for this weeks' challenge

This week has been “wet and rainy” once again. The Canada geese have taken over the farmers’ fields to feast on leftover grain.
At home our five cords of wood are sodden, and as yet, still un-piled.
This artist mixed media book has been dressed up very simply for a young artist friend of mine. I have prepared her a few ATC's that she can draw on to give to her friends. It's a belated birthday gift.
