Welcome
to my blog, The Diamond Dragonfly
This card
is my (Vintage Square with 2 buttons), entry into the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown
July Blog Hop (with four unique prompts).
What is
vintage to me? I see some very beautiful vintage cards yet I wondered how
Granny would have made a Christmas card at the Bras
Coupe in the 1930’s 35 miles north of Maniwaki by dog sled?
I walked
into my bedroom the other day, as late afternoon sun hit the bed and I started to cry. It took me back to the
cottage with my Mom napping, curled up with her book, as light filtered in the window through the
tree branches. I sleep on
that antique bed, hence the flashback.
We were in
Maniwaki burying Mom and Dad a few weeks ago and we stopped at my Grandparents
home for pictures. My children have been spending this summer at Cedar lake
turnabout, so my mind wanders to wonderful memories from the past easily.
I stamped
with SU baked brown sugar ink onto a paper bag and used lace pulled off an old
slip because this is what Granny would have had on hand. The card would have
been made some recycled light weight cardboard. I used card stock, clear buttons
and pearls. This card is 5X5. The pearls are placed on the candles and seem
lopsided.
